Once upon a time, the blue sky and green nature soothed our souls by day, while the stars guided people by night.

City life has taken both away from us. We can’t see many stars at night anymore because of light pollution.
Astronomy events come to our rescue. One of these is Astrofest in Konya.

It was held at a campsite on the shores of Lake Beyşehir.
There were competitions and workshops during the day. As for me, I dozed off while reading a book with a view of the lake, so I only managed to make it to the wood painting and bead stringing sessions during the last hour.
That nap came in handy—I was able to stay awake comfortably that night.

Guided by expert astronomers, we observed stars like Vega, Polaris, and the Albireo binary system, as well as the Hercules star cluster, the Moon, and Saturn’s rings through a telescope.

For me, it was my first time taking a star trail photo. For an hour, I watched the path the stars took.

The sky and the earth are so beautiful and special in their natural state. We should never lose our connection with nature.
